A very successful weekend of trail running, June 22/23rd covering the whole of the 50 mile course from Dalemain to Coniston. Saturday was the longest day from Dalemain to Ambleside and then Sunday proved to be shorter and easier, despite the tired legs, finish the route to Coniston. Some great talks on Saturday evening and a total of £1044.00 was raised for charity.
The money will be split between various causes, but the largest benefactor was the Ormerod Trust: http://www.ormerodtrust.org.uk/. The money raised during the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 recce weekend will fund 6 disabled / disadvantaged children to spend a weekend at the Bendrigg Outdoor Centre in Kendal, taking part in a variety of outdoor pursuits: http://www.bendrigg.org.uk/
Thank you to all the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 competitors to joined us, your payments made this happen. This was the final recce weekend for 2014 and close to £2,500 has been donated to charity from the series of 5 recce days / weekends alone. Thank you all for your support, see you on the 26th.
