We had a cracking day out at the Cumbrian Cracker. It was a stunning morning, and the early starters had the best of the day, with rain creeping in from lunch onwards, making it a chilly afternoon. It didn’t seem to dampen spirits and everyone had a smile on their faces at the end. The Cartmel Scouts did their usual job, providing great support at the half way feed stop. They provide outdoor activities for youngsters in South Lakes and from this year’s event we donated £1622 to help them fund their activities.
Well done to everyone who took part and thanks again for your support. Our next event is the Eden Valley Epic, yet again a ‘Scouts link’ with the event raising funds for Appleby Scouts, who will be manning the feed stop.
Recce weekend 1 for the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 took place Sunday November 10th and £340 was raised for EPIC Kidz. Considering the significance of the day we deemed it appropriate to donate to Royal British Legion and we did this via Dave Moretta who completed 18 marathons in 18 days, to commemorate the 18 soldiers from Lancashire who have been killed in recent years. He finished his last marathon on Remembrance Sunday. You can see his just giving page here:
