Money raised from the Lakeland 100 recce weekend, March 29th & 30th has been donated to the Bendrigg Trust. The money will be used to pay for an activity weekend, for children with learning difficulties. The following information was provided
As you have kindly donated £600.00 to the Children’s Service in the Ormerod Trust, we are going to complete a sporting weekend at Bendrigg Trust. Here they specialise in Sporting activities for those with a learning disability. We are taking six children aged from 7 to 18, and are staying in Oakwood Lodge, Bendrigg overnight on Saturday 12th April.
The activities that the children have chosen to complete are canoeing, the zip wire, climbing and abseiling and having a camp fire outside the lodge during the Saturday evening. The children are thoroughly thrilled that they have been given this exciting opportunity, and are all looking forward to the various activities that they are going to be taken part in.
One of the children, Cain aged 8 said “I can’t believe we get to go to Bendrigg, I am really looking forward to being in the canoe in the lake!”
An opportunity such as this is one the children will not forget, it will teach them teamwork, communication and general life skills.
