The Lorton First Responder Group is a voluntary group who respond to suitable 999 calls when requested to do so by the ambulance service. The First Responder Team was set up in 2005 to help people in the valley in the event of them having heart or breathing problems. The First Responders are trained to help patients in those vital minutes before paramedic or ambulance crew arrive. This is vital in the Lorton area as the ambulance is likely to be at least 20 minutes away.
The funds donated will go towards providing each member of the team with a pager and a defibrillator as well as other vital equipment.
