Amy Gornall (big sister to Rhiannon from our earlier blog) is 19 years old and has been racing on the road for 6 years. Throughout the past few years she has been North West Regional Champion twice, represented the North West and Wales and has also achieved a bronze medal in the Junior National Road Championships in 2013 and 2014.
The Dave Hitchen Fund has provided Amy with £500 to help support her aspirations to become a professional road cyclist.
Amy tells us “all the support I get is greatly appreciated. To gain enough experience to move to world level I need to race abroad, which comes at a price. I fully enjoy my cycling. It’s a fantastic way to see the world while competing in an amazing sport, which is growing each year.”
