Broughton Runners are a junior fell running club for children between the ages of 6 and 17 living across the South West Lakes area. They offer 3 sessions a week and have over 60 members. The club subsidises the children’s running kit and memberships to England Athletics for the older children. They organise a club championship with trophies (as seen in the picture) as well as ensuring their coaches are all appropriately trained.
The donation will be put towards the running costs of the junior section.
Mersey Tri was formed in 1985 by a group of enthusiastic swimmers, cyclists and runners. Today, the club has grown to become one of the largest triathlon clubs in the country with over 400 members spread across Merseyside. It has a strong children’s group of members as well as a steadily increasing senior membership of men and women of all ages and abilities. They are a very friendly and active club who can often be spotted at events dressed in their sky blue and yellow kit. As well as being spotted out and about, they also organise their own club events which are very well supported and popular. The money will be well spent progressing and building the juniors section of the club to grow and build the club as a whole. They will be taking over the world before you know it.
The Ormerod Trust provide care and support to adults and children with a learning disability across the Fylde, Blackpool, and Wyre areas of Lancashire. Every person they support has a personalised service designed around them – this makes sure the service fits around the person, and never the other way around.
The Trust are currently creating a sensory room to be used within the service they provide. The money donated to the Trust has been used to help improve the room to include the purchase of a blackout/theatre curtain to help really bring the light to life for the people they support.
Carlisle Tri Junior Club started in October 2012 with 36 members and has successfully risen to 60 members.
They pride themselves on being a friendly and welcoming club, with the focus being on encouragement and enjoyment thus hopefully inspiring their members to achieve their own goals and to go on to lead a long healthy and happy lifestyle.
One of Carlisle Tri Clubs long-term plans is to invest in their young athletes by getting them involved in the running and coaching within the Club. This will hopefully give them a broader and richer understanding of the benefits of being involved in sport from an early age, as well as inspire the younger members to progress.
Every year Carlisle Tri host a triathlon in September. This year they held a Junior Triathlon event and the money donated by Epic Kidz went towards the running costs of this event. The event was extremely successful with lots of lovely, positive comments being received from the parents of the children who were competing.
Epic Kidz have donated £250 to the 1st Oswaldtwistle (St Pauls) Scout Group.
The group do all their own fundraising for the running costs of their scout hut and to organise trips and activities.
The scout group are very active in getting the children out and trying something new that they might not otherwise get chance to try. They have done activities such as building go carts and bush tucker trials, they also help with community projects to teach them about nature and the outdoors just to name a few.
The money donated by Epic Kidz will go towards taking the scout group scuba diving.
