Chorley Athletic and Triathlon Club (or ‘Chorley’ for short) is a grass-roots club for people of all ages and abilities interested in road, cross country, trail, fell, multi-eventing, walking, track and field competition and/or just keeping fit and healthy.
The club in its present form was established in May 2012, and is now one of the largest clubs based in the North West of England with one of the biggest junior sections.
The juniors section has been going from strength to strength with over 100 juniors training and competing for the club on the athletics side. The juniors have also started to become more involved in the triathlon side of the club with many juniors competing in the NW series as well as many other junior races.
The club have been trying to develop the triathlon side and encourage new youngsters to get involved in the swim and the bike element as well as the run. They have some dedicated coaches but were lacking in equipment on the swimming side of things. Epic Kidz donated £310 to purchase a number of junior sized fins, hand paddles and open water safety floats so that the juniors can train and stay safe during the open water season.
