Abbie Dawson is an up and coming talented gymnast. She has been training at Wigan and Ashton Gymnastics club since she was 5 years old. In 2014 she was asked to train with a well established Team Gymnastics club at Crewe and Nantwich and is part of their Junior Team who were British Champions in 2015. They are hoping to regain their title in July at the British Championships at the Echo Arena.

About a year ago Abbie was selected by the head coach at Crewe to attend trials for the National team where she was successful in obtaining a place on their Senior Womens team. As a result, Abbie will now represent Great Britain at the European Team Gymnastics Championships in Slovenia in October 2016.
Abbie already has a British Gymnastics gold medal and would love to get a European gold with her team. Her dream is to appear at the Olympics one day but currently Team Gymnastics is not considered an Olympic sport at this present moment in time.
The expenses of getting to and competing in Slovenia are extremely costly so the Dave Hitchen Fund stepped in and have given Abbie a grant of £1000 to allow her to travel and compete in the European Championships.
We wish Abbie good luck for October and hopefully we will see her face at the Olympics in the future.
