Dave Hitchen Fund

300x300Dave Hitchen was a talented cyclist from St Helens in Merseyside who tragically lost his life in a road traffic accident, September 2014. He was extremely well known and well liked throughout the region for both his cycling performances and his unique personality!

The Dave Hitchen Fund has been established to helps support talented athletes within the North West. There is currently £5000 of funds to be awarded annually, by written application. The closing date for current applications will be December 31st 2015 and a trustee group will be tasked with making decisions regarding successful candidates.

The funds may be used for:

Event entries
Race equipment
Travel expenses
Ongoing training costs

The fund has been set up specifically to support athletes within the sports of cycling and triathlon who have the potential to compete at an elite level in their chosen sport. In particular, the fund supports those families who do not have sufficient income to cover costs such as those outlined above.
